This Privacy Policy describes how ACAC collects personal information, the types of personal information we collect, our use of current and former consumer information, as well as the steps that we take to maintain the confidentiality and accuracy of such information.  This policy also explains how customers can exercise their privacy rights by electing to opt-out of certain information sharing practices that we would otherwise apply to their nonpublic personal information. If you conduct transactions with ACAC and/or use the company’s web site you explicitly agree to the terms and conditions of the Privacy Policy in effect at that time. In compliance with industry standards and regulations enforced by Federal and State governmental bodies, we abide the following Privacy Policy.

How We Obtain Personal Customer Information.

This policy principally governs ACAC’s use of non-public personal customer information.  Non-public personal information is defined in applicable law and generally means financial information that is identified with an individual that is not obtainable from a public source.  For example, a customer’s check cashing transaction activity is non-public information.  Non-public information includes any list, description, or other grouping of customers that is created using non-public information (whether or not the list also includes public information).  Non-public information does not include any list, description, or grouping that is created using only public information.

We obtain personal customer information primarily from our customers (for example when they request that we complete a financial transaction on their behalf).  We may also obtain such information from other sources (for example, if a customer applies for a loan we may obtain a credit report on them and ask that they authorize us to verify their personal financial information).  If we are unable to obtain such information as our business may require from our customers, we may be prevented from providing them with a service and/or may be compelled to discontinue providing a service that we previously provided to them.  We also maintain personal customer information resulting from their experience and transaction activity with us.

When we need to collect personally identifiable information from a customer to execute a requested transaction or provide a customer with a particular service, we will ask the customer to voluntarily supply us with the information we need.  We may ask customers to provide information such as, but not limited to: name, address, telephone number, email address, demographic information (such as income level and gender), account balances with creditors, payment histories, account activity, and other information that may be contained in the customer’s credit card statements or other reports relating to debt, and credit bureau reports, collection agency reports or other communications, and other information relating to payment histories, creditworthiness, annual income, or ability to satisfy financial obligations.  This information may be collected from, but not limited to, the following sources: our communications with you, including information obtained when you register for a ACAC service or otherwise volunteer such information, your transactions with us, our affiliates, or others; outside companies, such as consumer reporting agencies, and public sources, such as bankruptcy records and real estate records.
